Sébastien Stoskopff

One of the most important still life painters of his time, Stoskopff was born in Strasbourg, Alsace and was in Paris between 1622 and 1639.  It was here that he produced some of his large format works (now in Strasbourg).  From 1639 he returned to Strasbourg where he settled down and married.
