Herman Henstenburgh
(Dutch, 1667 - 1726)
This person is associated with: Dutch Golden Age

Dutch painter from Hoorn.

He trained under Johannes van Bronckhorst, with whom he also learnt pastry (he had a bakery). Following his master's art, his works were mostly scientific depictions of insects and birds. However, he also painted his animals "in situation" in imaginary landscapes. He also painted a few still lifes with very bright colours.
