This person is associated with: Baroque

Baroque painter, printmaker, composer and actor who worked in Rome, Naples and Florence.  At first he received high praise for his depictions of battles but later he devoted himself to painting fantastic, emotionally charged landscapes.  He was an important exponent of seventeen-century landscape painting in contrast to the more classically serene works of Nicolas Poussin and Claude Lorrain.  Many of his landscapes were painted around the rocky coastline of Naples.
