Dutch painter from Haarlem.

She trained under Frans Pietersz de Grebber and possibly Frans Hals, from whom she followed the style. She was one of the very few women painters of the Golden Age and is best known for her painting The Proposition.  She was married to artist Jan Miense Molenaer.
