David Rolt
(1916-1985)
David Rolt was an English artist best known for his "treescapes" and for portraits of leading figures in the arts and high society during the 1940s - 1960s. Several of his paintings were shown at the Royal Academy, and five exhibitions of his work were held at the Hazlitt Gallery in London. While most of his works remain in private hands and have seldom come to market in recent years, his "Self portrait with a black hat" was sold by Christie's in 2012 for £13,750.
