Auguste Bonheur
(French, 1824-1884)
Auguste Bonheur is the brother of the well known Rosa Bonheur. He was influenced by his sister, and was specialized in painting animals (bovines...); [may be it wasn't the best option, because Aguste was obviously a very talented painter, but, in the animals field, the paintings by Rosa are of a highest level]. He was exhibited regularly at the Salon (Paris) from 1845. In France, his works can be found in museums, mainly Boredeaux (the Bonheur family was from there), but also Amiens.
