Influential critic and writer who was also an accomplished painter.  Fry introduced the British public to French Post-Impressionist paintings with exhibitions held in London in 1910 and 1912. He was a specialist on Italian Renaissance art and founded the Burlington Magazine.  He was also a member of the 'Bloomsbury Group' of artists.
