Henry Stannard, aka Harry Stannard
(English, 1844 - 1920)
Son of the painter John Stannard of Eversholt. Studies at South Kensington (London); he was well known as an illustrator of the wild life, particularly birds. he was elected at the Royal Society of British Artists in 1894 where he has been exhibited until his death. His son, Henry John Sylvester Stannard (1870-1951), was a famous watercolourist too, specialized in english landscapes with cottages and gardens.
