Stanislas Lépine

Born in Caen, Normandy. French painter who specialised in landscape works and principally views of the Seine in and around Paris. He was much influenced by Corot, whom he met in 1859. Although he produced paintings at the same time as the established Impressionist painters, he has never attained the same recognition as his peers and cannot be considered a true Impressionist painter.
