Yes I'm expanding and creating pages for many of the earlier artists for which there is not much on here. There is not much that has not already been entered for the impressionists, of which there are so many entries! There is an enormous number of 'private collections' for the 19th century artists and I wonder whether this is correct or if one simply doesn't know where they are housed.
There needs to be some cross referencing for some painters though. I have been searching Tintoretto (Jacopo Robusti) and the search engine does not locate under 'Tintoretto' or 'Robusti' but if one enters 'Jacopo' he is listed along with other names. Odd? I have a self portrait to insert against Tintoretto but the index of names (for inserting a picture)does not list him. Strange.
It is all a little strange since he is universally known as Tintoretto. And, there are few entries to him although he ranks as one of the most important 16th century Venetian artists.
How can we make the search engine better?
I have also been busy 'cleaning up' the duplicate entries under Paul Cezanne. Most of these appeared in 2003 by Rocsdad and I'm at a loss to understand why so many were entered twice (perhaps a hitch in the system then).
