One of a set of seven sacraments (the taking of holy orders to become a priest)commissioned by Cassiano dal Pozzo in the mid 17th century from the artist. The Seven Sacraments were purchased by the 4th Duke of Rutland from the heirs of Cassiano dal Pozzo in 1785 and this work entered the collection in 2011.
